Is there a particular reason why there are two law guardians instead of one?

Q: I have an order of protection filed against me by my ex. We have two boys. She has full custody, and I have visitation, medical and educational access. The first court appearance was last Tuesday, and the law guardian expressed to the judge that the mother of my kids canceled the interview with the kids. The mother and her lawyer expressed that it was a confusion and that she was going to schedule the interview again. 2 days later I received by email the next court appearance date and noticed that they are two law guardians assigned to the case instead of only one.

A: First, if you’re not, you should be represented by counsel. Second, though it’s speculation, perhaps the Judge determined there was some sort of conflict in the AFC representing both children. Schedule a consult with a Bronx Child Custody Attorney for a full assessment.
