How do I get custody back of my son?

Q:  I had lost custody of my son in 2014. His grandparents and his father have custody right now. How do i go about getting him back ? He did tell me that he wants to live with me. I do have a job, I am married to a correction officer for the city and we own our house. I am drug free and have been for over a year.
