Q: I have a court date coming soon, the father and I have joint legal custody, but I have the final authority saying in the court order. I moved to another state, and I have his permission in writing. After 2 years he is saying that I didn’t ask for his permission to moved, but I have the text messages in Spanish.
A: You should bring that proof with you – along with a certified translation of the texts. Don’t rely on the Court providing the translation. That said, a relocation case will likely require a trial – even if he initially agreed, he’s free to change his mind & that fact in itself likely won’t result in an automatic win.
