Q: My son is 20 years old, he works and moved out of his mother’s house with his girlfriend, his annual income is higher than mine and I have to pay $1,116 monthly, he was in college but he has not returned and his mother does not know if He goes to classes, I have 2 little children, ages 9 and 4, and I feel like I’m paying too much in child support and he already works full time and moved away from home, what can I do in that case.
A: It would appear you’d qualify to terminate child support. The issue is whether the child is self-supporting – if he’s living on his own & working full-time, this would appear to be the case. For a full assessment, schedule a consult with a Westchester Family Law Attorney.
