Can my daughter’s father move to vacate the birth certificate?

  • By: David Bliven

Q: He was married when we were together and he refused to sign the acknowledgment but later he accepted, now he wants to vacate the birth certificate.

A: Depending on the age of the child, it may be difficult for him to do so. Generally, the father has 60 days to move to vacate the acknowledgment. Schedule a consult with a Bronx Paternity/Child Support Attorney for a full assessment.
