When Getting An Order Of Protection In Family Court The Judge Granted It And Told Me That I Can Also File This Criminal Court?

Q: She said something along the lines that in criminal court they can make arrests easier if the defenadant violates the order of protection. Will I have to go back and forth to both courts if I file in criminal court?

A: It’s optional whether you appear in the criminal case, except at trial. That said, I wouldn’t understand the Judge’s comment that it’s easier to arrest someone on a criminal court order – in my mind, an OP is an OP.
