If I Signed A Birth Certificate When The Baby Was Born, However DNA Proofed I’m Not The Father What Can I Do?

Q: The baby was born oct 27 and I believed she was mine, my family paid for a dna because they needed proof that the baby was mine. The DNA proofed I wasn’t the father, how can I remove my name from the birth certificate because the mothers will try to take me to child support

A: You’d need to file a petition to vacate your acknowledgement of paternity. First make sure to retrieve the acknowledgement from the Dept of Vital Records. Schedule a consult with a Bronx Child Support attorney for a full assessment.
