Can My Mother Force Me To Divulge Specific Details Of My Therapy In Order To Visit With My Daughter?

| Jun 12, 2016 | Uncategorized

Q: My mother lied and strong armed me into signing adoption papers, so she could adopt my daughter. Now she won’t let me visit with her until I provide a detailed letter of my therapy, which my therapist says she won’t provide due to legal reasons.

A: David’s Answer: If your mother adopted your child, then you lost all your legal rights (unless it was an open adoption). If this is the case, then she’s within her rights to demand anything she wishes as any access time at all with the child is completely within her discretion.
